Assistant city manager, Jerry Banks says, "We are excited to welcome Amy as our new Director of Parks and Recreation. She joins our leadership team with a wealth of experience in parks, recreation, leadership, and administration as well as a proven track record of cultivating a strong sense of the community," and that’s exactly what the city of Harker Heights needs.

With a bachelor's in Parks and Recreation administration from Southwest Texas State University, and master's degree in recreation and leisure services from Texas State University, and an additional in public administration from the University of Texas Arlington, Amy seems to be the person for the job. Amy assumed the role as the Director yesterday, Monday the 29th. Being a resident of Harker Heights myself we are very excited to see what she has in store for the community.
